Three Generations of Protective Engineering

The A.V. Ibrahim enterprise, spanning three generations, was founded by Arasali Vellappa Ravuthar Ibrahim and initially engaged in leather tanning and the manufacture of leather goods in 1964. The A.V. Ibrahim cottage industry was established in 1972, followed by the formation of A.V. Ibrahim Industries in 1980.

We specialise in manufacturing products from synthetic-coated fabrics and rank among India’s most experienced industrial bellows manufacturers. In 1982 we focused our engineering and manufacturing capabilities on creating flexible protective covers designed to safeguard personnel and machinery within the machine tool industry’s operating environments. The techniques we pioneered in the early use of elastomer-coated fabrics have evolved into the highly recognised and reliable range of A.V. Ibrahim protective covers available today.

Since 1985 we have manufactured and exported protective equipment for diverse sectors — including defence, aerospace, steel plants, shipbuilding, railways, nuclear research, power generation, robotics, medical instrumentation, petrochemicals and mining.

In 2000 the global entity A.V. Ibrahim Machine Tools Private Limited was established. We expanded our portfolio to include metal way covers and metal telescopic covers, designed to protect machine guideways subjected to heavy chip loads and to provide necessary structural support during machine operation. Latest product additions include laser-cut metal telescopic tubes, various custom and stock guideway wipers, and telescopic wipers for both OEM and replacement applications.

In 2005, to meet the growing demand for safety in moving machinery, the company expanded into the manufacture of filter paper, filter fabric and high-temperature cooling systems. Today A.V. Ibrahim manufactures a comprehensive range of metal and non-metal, open and closed-type chip and dust guards for use in machine tools, robots, mobile equipment and material handling systems.
